"Why do you dress up? Are you gay?"

I've always wanted to discuss about this topic in like forever because it has been troubling me for quite some time. People in the society nowadays are so judgemental that I just want them to be gone if I know that they are one. It's extremely tough to please every single people because there will always be that one person who is out there to spoil things for you. It's like they just wakes up in the morning and create a plan to ruin someone's day over a bowl of Froot Loops or something.

To dress up and look nice doesn't means that I’m a gay, I’m only gay if I’m trying to get all intimate with a guy which I don’t see myself doing it so soon or perhaps, ever. To dress up and to present myself in that way proves how much I put a thought daily into my outfits, it’s really not easy. Waking up and just staring into my wardrobes while your mind runs wild with the inspirations. If I were a gay, I would dress better for sure.

“Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn”  Orson Welles
“Don't look to the approval of others for your mental stability”  Karl Lagerfeld

I get many stares and comments about the way I dress up, I simply just like to wear clothes that are of many loud prints and all because I like to stand out. I've been dressing up too much that dull clothes just make me feel lazy if I'm in them. I don't understand why those judgemental people must stereotypically categorize what men and women can only wear. It's the year 2014 and the fashion industry is expanding steadily that women have been wearing pants long time ago and not to mention that some men are in skirts now too. They say that a guy should dress up and look like a guy, I strongly disagree with it because you can be a guy in any outfits still.

I've had a few strong and tensed discussions or conversations with my family as they disapproved me of what I wear. It's really sad because I really expected them to be supportive of what I wear because I do dress up and that kinda brings up the status of the family in some way, somehow. Endless conversations are still unable to convince them and that really made me feel so sick whenever this topic is being brought up.

So what if I do actually dress up? I feel extremely great in them and that makes me more confident, which is the most important thing of all, not to mention that I do feel happy about myself. If I were to actually act on how people judge me, my life can never be peaceful. People with good fashion sense will appreciate me for how I do actually spend time to match up an outfit and that might inspire them, especially those on LOOKBOOK. To those judgemental people with really dull and regular outfits, just get a grip on your life and start shopping.

For those people who wants to put on loud outfits but are just too afraid to do so because you might be judged, perhaps you should not care and be bothered by a handful of " loud outfit haters" and do what you want to do. People do ask me why I dress up in prints and blings, the reason is that I'd rather dress up and be wrong than to dress down and be dull. You can't worry about what anyone else thinks about you. Just remember and keep it close to your heart that at the end of the day, it's important you must be the person feeling happy.

That's a little rant that occupied most space in the "RANT" department and I've finally able to get it out. Will be updating my blog with a new outfit(s) next week because it's Chinese New Year, OOTD it is! Quite looking forward to it but at the same time, not that much because I'll only be celebrating it on a reunion lunch with the relatives and I'll be leaving hometown, Muar, for Singapore on the first day of Chinese New Year.

Till then!

Beam Me Up

Kind of have the feeling to blog earlier on and so I did a last minute planning of what I should blog about. I've always been blogging about my outfits so I was wondering that today I should talk about the accessories that I've.

Ladies, if I happen to have more accessories than you, you know that you should be doing more shopping instead. I'll also be adding a few pictures of the accessories that I've made, oh ya and I do DIY stuffs especially accessories as I've planned on doing accessories and shoes designing if I become a fashion designer, one day.

The 4 accessories below are those that I made. I have received a few comments from people whether I'm making extras for sales, perhaps I'll be doing that soon.

That's all I've for now, I'm sure new ones will be coming in pretty soon as Chinese New Year in 2 weeks time. Other than my blog, I'm active on my Instagram and Twitter. Updates will be coming up soon.

Vintage With A Twist

Finally managed to survive the week after school reopens, that means 5 weeks more left before I bid goodbye to school for good. It's just hectic week after week, project days are the worst. I'm just pushing myself daily to clear the days off, striking them off the calendar to make myself feel better.

I've finally thought of what to do when I'm all done with polytechnic, I've decided to pursue my dream as a fashion designer by going to London College of Fashion. This really seems like a huge thing to me but I'm sure things will work out on way or another. If you think I'm going to work as an engineer when I've graduated, you must be tripping.

Gathered this outfit for a catching up meet up with two good friends but only a few shots were taken. I've to say that Christmas and the upcoming Chinese New Year are giving me good reasons/excuses to shop. However, it's impossible to say no to sales right?

So I did managed to write up another post on a different week, I hope that I will be able to do so weekly. Chinese New Year is just around the corner but I'm simply not looking forward to the red packets because since my parents are going on an overseas trip to Shanghai, we can't stay over at our hometown for long. How I wish that they will bring us along for all their overseas trip every Chinese New Year, I could use a getaway annually. That's all for now.

The Earthkeeper

I'm back finally after a long time for a new post, have been working my ass off during the holidays for the festival seasons that are coming. To be frank, it's more like shopping during the festival period, the sales!!! I mean, how can you say no to shopping right? Shopping is like my only cardio exercise that I have currently haha!

The outfit that I've on was taken in Malaysia just at the back alley behind my house and beside the pond. Have to bring all the clothes and accessories back which made the bag so heavy! I have so much difficulties to have them taken in Singapore because simply, I need to go out with someone in order to get it done and there aren't many patient photo taking people around sadly. Those who takes OOTD pictures regularly knows how I feel. Photos are all credited to second sister who always take me phone secretly to take selfies like whut?

This outfit consists of 3 new items that I've bought over the Christmas sales period, shirt, necklace and bag. Necklace, bag and shoes were purchased when they were on a 50% or more discount, budget Ken maybe?

This totebag caught my eyes immediately because it's reversible and it comes along with another kinda big bag and a small one inside which is 3 for the price of 50% off like errmaigod??? Material wise it's not bad so why not right?

Loudly printed shirt and big neck piece is like my thing, it goes perfectly well for me. The louder and bigger it is, the more amazing it is.

Was walking to my sister to grab the phone to check the pictures then she took this hmmm.

My sister says I look better when I'm smiling that just that serious poker face, what do you guys think?

Can't wait to get a camera which is not from the back of my phone soon because the quality from the phone really cannot make it. So many things to get for myself when I've so many shopping to do but with so little money oh growing up problems really sucks.

I still have yet to come up with a new year resolution for 2014, still thinking on it because I really hope that I will come up with something realistic and beneficial for my future. Will update about it if I do come up with one, and I hope it would be soon.

Happy new year and let's all look forward to the red packets that we will be collecting during Chinese New Year.

Till then!

As The Coldness Sets In

The weather here in Singapore has been getting pretty much chilly lately, just raining cats and dogs almost daily. Rainy days like these makes productivity rather not progressive. All I want to do is to snuggle myself in my pullover on my bed with a cup of toffee nut latte or cranberry white chocolate mocha along with some movies or shows; perfect day.

I've always wanted to play around with layers of clothing but the usual humid and killer weather made it impossible to do so. However, my chance is here now.

Really can't wait for the final sickening alphabets and numbers paper to end soon, have been looking forward to the holidays since like N days ago. I will try to get inspired more on what to wear because I think I'm running out of clothes to wear whenever I open up my wardrobe??? That's the 2nd saddest thing to me. 1st will be opening up your wallet and all you see are receipts and cards but no cash!

Festival seasons are coming and I'm so looking forward to Christmas and Chinese New Year, so have a great holiday and enjoy the rest of 2013!

Getting Close To Nature

Managed to squeeze some blogging time into my busy common test period finally, and only days near to the examination period makes me busy. Most of the engineering students only starts to study when the exams are coming, last minute studying is like a trend in the whole division. Pretty much overwhelmed by the number of days left before each paper.

School can be tiring at times and not to mention how they can be able to fix my timetable for Monday from 11 am to 6 pm without giving me any breaks in between. The only thing to look forward to school is simply nothing, no motivation at all. It's just torturously draining me for real.

All I need is a breather, from all the confusing alphabets and numbers; worst combination ever. A getaway is much needed, to just leave everything behind for a moment. To get closer to nature, absorb the positive energy from within to relieve my mind. It's been awhile I last did that. The outfit inspiration is inspired by wanting to get closer to nature and the closest way to do so is to wear it.

Time sure does fly because it's December already, and that means 2014 is coming too! More things to look forward to perhaps? Christmas and Chinese New Year too of course!  *glutton mode on*

I'll try to update this space weekly with my outfit posts because I hope I'll not neglect it as I'm always looking forward to blogging.

A Tough And Tall Flower, Thriving.

Finally after procrastinating endlessly about creating a blog, I've managed to get myself the right feeling to do so right now. Just a little information about myself, I'm a final year mechatronics engineering student who is studying in Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Engineering has never been my cup of tea, normally I'll just be getting borderline results during exams. It was until the second year in poly life when I started to choose extracurricular classes of interest and I managed to get what I voted for, photography and fashion and design.

Photography was fun and interesting, I was taught on how to capture really beautiful pictures and to be a good photographer you just need to be very patient. However, I didn't scored quite well for it as only the lecturer is able to grade how well your portfolio is.

It was then fashion and design classes started and I was pretty much amazed by how the industry works. We're required to dress up to the outfit theme accordingly and that was when I started to have a better fashion sense. Back then, it was just normal tee and jeans for me. Being an engineering student, no one bothers to dress up for school. I'd say that I'm the only person in the class who spends extra time waking up early to choose the right outfit to go with for the rest of the day. But of course, to dress up in your own style might not be approved by the majority. I'll receive ill comments or even those weird stares by some strangers and that quite bothered me a little. However, it didn't stop me from doing so and I just started to dress up daringly as long as I'm comfortable in it.

Right now, I'm having some difficulties on what path to take after graduating. To continue as an engineer which doesn't interests me at all or as a fashion designer one day? Jumping from engineering to the fashion industry is a whole new thing to me, but I'm sure I can adapt well. But how am I be able to enter the challenging world? I need connections.
